ABOUT

Rick Bell, a self-taught saxophonist,
studio musician, and a member of the
Michael Stanley Band from 1981-84,
played on many recordings and in many
concerts during the late 1970s and early
1980s while living in Cleveland, Ohio.

In 1984, Bell moved to New York and
transitioned into its studio session
scene. During the later 1980s and
early 1990s, he recorded and toured with
various artists both domestically and
internationally. He joined Lou Reed
on the “A Conspiracy of Hope” tour for
Amnesty International in 1986 and
then joined Reed, Peter Gabriel, and
Youssou N’Dour for the “Secret
Policeman’s Third Ball” concert for
Amnesty in 1987.

Today, Bell continues to support
Amnesty International and to play
the saxophone.
